Ballarat-Sebastopol Cycling club and the RACV trails put on an amazing event day to kick of the 2017 Interwinter Series with a very positive 130ish riders.
Anyone out there got some happy snaps they want to share? Let us know. Also anyone want to write up their race report to share. From the front of the course I can tell you all that Daniel Braunsteins and myself (Rohin Adams) went blow for blow swapping the lead many times but not able to find more than 50m of space which was always shut down by the other quickly. Coming down to the 10th and last lap, a cruel extra with us crossing the line after 9 laps at 2:58:20 thing even got physical as we both pushed to own the front position on course to be able to play it out to our advantages. Thing was Daniel was by far the stronger descender and I was the stronger climber so as I said things got a bit physical out there as we each tried to either overtake or defend that position. But rubbing is racing and there can be only one winner. Today Daniel was a deserving champ having the legs left to complete the sprint to the line which also turned out to be our fastest lap of the day.
Don’t know about anybody else, but I am buckled!
Massive congratulations to the club for putting on such a great event.
